Germany Is Debanking Dissidents, How Monero Solves This...

German banks are systematically terminating accounts belonging to journalists and media outlets without explanation, and the government refuses to act. Approximately 40 independent media organizations have lost banking access since 2020. Left-wing journalist Aya Velázquez had her account terminated after criticizing pandemic measures. Swiss radio station Kontrafunk lost its account despite paying 6,000 euros annually in fees. This is financial infrastructure weaponized for political control.

Without bank accounts, you can't receive donations, pay employees, or participate in modern commerce. Germany's 2016 Payment Accounts Act supposedly guarantees basic accounts, but private banks exploit freedom of contract to deny service without explanation. Even public savings banks legally required to maintain neutrality have banking officials openly stating that politically unpopular groups aren't welcome.

This is where Monero comes in. Unlike Bitcoin where every transaction is publicly visible on the blockchain, Monero transactions are completely private by default. Ring signatures, stealth addresses, and encrypted amounts make every transaction untraceable. The IRS offered $625,000 to crack Monero's anonymity in 2020. Nobody's claimed it.

Monero solves debanking entirely. There's no bank to terminate your account, no intermediary to deny service, no government bureaucrat deciding whether your politics are acceptable. You hold your own money and send it without asking permission. Monero received nearly $1 million in donations in 2025 through its Community Crowdfunding System. Freelancers use it for cross-border payments. Independent media accept it for subscriptions. It's happening now.

Governments hate privacy coins because decentralized systems can't be controlled no CEO to threaten, no server to seize. Banks are doing exactly what the state wants: enforcing political conformity through financial control. You can wait for politicians to protect you, or use tools that make their permission irrelevant. When banks become political enforcers, the answer isn't begging for fairness it's making them obsolete.
